The Summer is waning to a close for much of the planet, but in South Florida, it winds down in name only. While we won't likely enjoy the respite from the extreme heat that our northerly neighbors will, we can expect the fall hues and hints of cinnamon spice to waft in the air. For our part, we're rounding up some of our favorite ideas for folks of all ages and types to find something to do in the Boca Raton area. Boca End Of Summer Festival

• Where: Mizner Park Amphitheater - 590 Plaza Real. Boca Raton, FL 33432
• When: Saturday, September 23rd. 11 AM - 6 PM

It's the proverbial end of Summer! Though the heat will drag on long after the Autumn Equinox, the city of Boca Raton is excited to throw a wonderful all-day festival to commemorate the first week of Fall. This family-friendly event will include the usual favorites for kids and parents - including food vendors, live music, a petting zoo and adoption area, carnival rides, and a beer garden for the parents among us. The first of two events we're listing at the Mizner Park Amphitheater, the End of Summer Festival will take full advantage of the welcome confines of Mizner Park and the surrounding area.

Summer Sips & Sounds At The Boca Historical Society

• Where: The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum - Historic Town Hall, 71 N. Federal Hwy. Boca Raton, FL 33432
• When: Thursday, September 7th. 6 PM - 8 PM

The Boca Raton Historical Society is a great friend of Champagne & Parisi Real Estate. Through their partnership, we've gained access to records, exhibits, and primary sources that have only added to our love of this city. The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum occupies the original city hall building in Downtown Boca, designed by Addison Mizner himself. Summer Sips & Sounds is an event in partnership with the Festival Arts of Boca that intertwines the history of Boca Raton with the music of the day. For their third installation, the series will celebrate the 1980s - a time in which the personal computer PC led the flash, glamor, and bright lights of the city's ascendancy. During this time, the city was known colloquially as "Silicon Beach." 

The Rock And Roll Playhouse

• Where: Mizner Park Amphitheater - 590 Plaza Real. Boca Raton, FL 33432
• When: Sunday September 24th. 12 PM - 4 PM

The Rock and Roll Playhouse will be at the Mizner Park Amphitheater on the final Sunday of September. Founded in 2014, the Rock and Roll Playhouse is the largest national kid-friendly concert series. In its history, the act has played over 1,000 shows across 35 major venues, including Mizner Park. Geared towards children 7 and under, the Rock and Roll Playhouse offers its audience the fun of games, movement, storytelling, and engagement all with the backdrop of Rock and Roll Music. For your young ones, this will be a Sunday to remember! 

Labor Day Weekend At Max's Grille

• When: Labor Day Weekend - Friday, September 1 - Monday, September 4.

Sherlock Holmes & The Opera Mystery

• Where: Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park 300 S. Military Trail. Boca Raton, FL 33486
• When: Sunday, September 10. 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

This short but sweet kid-friendly mystery will take place at the Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park. Kids will participate alongside Sherlock Holmes as he investigates a diamond theft at the Royal Opera. The titular character based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle will utilize his skills of observation, disguise, and sleuthing to solve the heist. Shows will be held in the morning and afternoon.

Dinner Show With World Class Tenor: Ghaleb

• Where: The Blue Dog Restaurant -  6000 Glades Rd. Suite 1008C. Boca Raton, FL 33431
• When: Thursday, September 21. 7 PM - 9:30 PM

The Blue Dog Restaurant is playing host to Ghaleb, a world class tenor vocalist. Continuing in the tradition of legendary international tenors such as Pavarotti, Bocelli, and Domingo. Ghaleb is renowned not just for his incredible vocals but his mastery of classical flamenco guitar. The Venezuelan born dynamo will perform while you enjoy the finest three-course preset menu featuring numerous delectable selections including plant-based options alongside the expected fare of seafood, roast chicken, calamari, and much more.
